Good Start

I am not sure how to start this thing other than to say what has happened so far this year. I do not plan to spew my every thought out onto the computer universe so I will be trying to talk specifically about what I am doing art wise, the how and what etc of that.

So far in the first 19 days of 2009 I have done 8 pictures. The "Wolf Samurai" was the third of 3 Japanese print inspired works. I did a "White Tiger Samurai" and the first picture of the year was "Mountain Warrior" this is a Gryffon, sort of a follow up on "Gryffon Over Waves" (see my website for this one).

4 of the pictures are a set, they are somewhat different from my norm and were done as a strip/story called "Fall Conversation". I may post the strip at some point. This was a commission, I found the story accidentally while searching the web for fall leaves for a picture I was working on at the end of last year. These are 5 1/2 x 6 inches each.

My newest picture is a female...I know, shocking for me, lol. I bought a book called "Art Models 3" and it has both male and female nudes in different poses for artists to work from and it inspired me to try more female figures. While there was no theme to start with in this picture, I still have the Japanese print influence going on so it has some of that feel. Again, I will possibly post it here at some point or you can look on my website for it.

  1. 8 pieces so far already! well i guess technically i am up there but it was 7 pieces for the theater and a bunch of sketches and three bleach painted t shirts but none were really complicated and the theater stuff is rather ephemeral.

It's interesting to see your work published in a journal. (No, I will NOT use the "b" word; I, too, hate that word, though I don't think that all journals are evil.)

I wish you much success with your artwork.

By the way, has anyone commented that your small Avatar image looks a lot like Mythbuster Adam Savage? :) (Sorry; couldn't resist!)
