OK, I know I don't really need to point this out, but here is proof that I am insane! I am working on a steampunk version of Icarus. Trying to get the wings right drove me nuts...er, well anyway, was hard. To my point, the correct, easy and right way to paint means doing the broad background and large ares of color first and then working in details gradually. I work backwards (and it is MUCH harder). Here is a picture of the Icarus picture as a work in progress. Note the background, witch will eventually all be painted in as sky going from a dark to light blue. Painting the background into all the tiny wing areas is such a pain. Maybe someday I will learn to do it the "right" way.
