New Art, Finally

Finally after what seems like forever, I am able to draw again. The poison ivy is cleared up on my hands enough to let me work again. This is just sorta a practice picture just so I could be sure I could do something without any problems from the poison ivy. He is a Tiger teen being a bit shy. "Don't Peek!", 8 1/2 x 11 Acrylic, watercolor colored pencil and pigma pens on Canson board. Now I can get back to getting some art I need to get done done. Picture 43.

  1. Tristan: Do you "activate" your watercolor pencils with water once you've finished the drawing? Do you worry about them fading? I am interested in using the watercolor pencils but have not done a lightfastness test.
And yes, I threw a quick shadow under my "Lemuridoo" digitally but that is just for the blog entry. The Lemur is for an album cover and I'll be re-working him in color for the final.

  2. Yes, I "activate" them with water, always. These are Mongol pencils that I have had for many many years. I doubt I can replace them (I am running low on some and have lost some). These belonged to my sister who died over 3o years ago. I have no idea if they fade (I hope not to bad considering I use them all the time).

This photo is wonderful, and is a hoot! We have a dog here -- Casper -- who loves to recline in a chair, nestling his back along the back of the chair, and then rests one of his forepaws over his, ahem, private parts. It's the funniest thing to see. I wish I could include the photo here, but, instead, I'll just have to e-mail a copy of it to you.
