Troublesome Fairy Captured

I have started the "Never Sleep in a Fairy Ring" sequel 3 times so far (I really hope this 3rd one will be the last one). It seems I was being thwarted in my efforts and so I waited and finally captured this fairy. I hope he is the one who has been causing the problems (the brush in his hands makes me think it is him). I will let you know for sure if this solves the problem (by posting the finished "Fairy Ring Sequel" when it is done. 26

What size is the art work and what medium it is on? ( I couldn’t post)

  2. Russell, the original and the sequal are 16 x 20 and are on Canson baord (Canson paper is a fine art paper that comes in many different colors. Canson board is Canson paper mounted on illustration board.) It is some of my favorite stuff to work on. I am doing the sequal in Acrylics mostly, with some watercolor colored pencil also used (the original "Never Sleep in a Fairy Ring" was done in the same stuff.)

Nice work here. Reminds me of how I pictured Jim Butcher's Toot-Toot looking.

  4. Let him out, let him out, let him out!

Re: steampunk, and thanks for your comments on my Trader Joe's image. Yes, the Verne show (which I never saw) was a prime example of "steampunk." And I have seen at least one mash-up image of Captain James T. Kirk in an ornate 19th century military officer's uniform, so someone out there is doing steampunk Trek already. I am not surprised.

  5. Ummm he may run out of air in there. i know he may be troublesome but killing him slowly with CO2 poisoning is not the answer. i mean if you need to make a Kill Jar for faeries i believe formaldehyde is still the classic way to go. However as fleshy as he is he will look wierd when dried and mounted. so maybe dunk him in some of that liquid acrylic stuff that they make paper weights out of?

  6. Hey, the jar is just setting over him, air comes in the bottom. It not sealed air tight.

Toot-Toot is a fairy who helps out Jim Butcher's character Harry Dresden in many of the "Dresden Files" stories. He has wings, though, which the guy pictured here either has folded behind him or is missing.

    Akirashima:

Actually, I believe the chemical of choice for a kill jar is actually carbon tetrachloride. At least, that's what I seem to remember from my youthful interest in insect collecting.

  8. If you look at the fairies in "Never Sleep in a Fairy Ring" you will note they are wingless (not all fairies have wings). He is of the same kind as they are.
Hmm, I guess the TV series of the "Dresden Files" left out the fairy since I don't recall ever seeing or hearng about him.
