My Son in Art

I just found another picture I did of my son when he was young. It is called "My Hearts Angel" and I did it for my now out of print "Darkness & Light" book. Done in 1995, Joe was about 9 I think in this picture. This was done in black Prisma Color on Bristol, 8 1/2 x 11. Prints available.

Yet Again...

I am actually working on other art now, but nothing is finished so I am still enjoying coloring old black and white work. This is "Living Fountain" it appeared in my now out of print black and white book "Nightchild". The original was 8 1/2 x 11 marker on Bristol. Done in 1994. The Colored version is 8 1/2 x 11 printed on Canson paper and hand colored with Acrylics, watercolor colored pencil and a small bit of Prisma Color. I love the pose as it is art, as life, imitating art since many classical fountains have figures in a similar pose. Original and prints for sale. Picture 18.

And Again...

Here is one of my personal favorite picture I did back in 2003. Done for the never finished black and white Merman book (I will do a color merman book eventually), the original "Joy in a Drop of Water" was 8 1/2 x 11 Micron marker on Bristol paper. The colored version is printed on Canson paper and hand colored with Acrylic and Prisma Colors (also 8 1/2 x 11). Original and prints for sale. Picture 17.

And Still More

I love strong contrast and strong graphics. I enjoyed doing this almost as a doodle way back in 1993. Here is "The Flame", original black and white, done in marker on art paper, 5 x 8 (approximately). And I also am posting the newly hand colored version. Printed on 8 1/2 x 11 Canson paper and colored with Acrylic and Prisma Colors. Original (color) and Prints (of both) available. Picture 16.

More Hand Coloring

OK, here is yet another of my old black and white pictures and it's newly hand colored version. The original was done in marker on Bristol and was 8 1/2 x 11 (I think) maybe half that. The Colored version is printed on Canson paper and colored with Acrylic and Prisma Colors. "Cat Tribe, Panther Elf" original and prints for sale. Picture 15.

Earth Day Pic

I always loved this in black and white, he is just so cute (even if he does remind me of a hood ornament). I thought this would be appropriate for Earth day. Again this was printed on Canson paper and then hand colored with Acrylic, Prisma color and a small bit of watercolor colored pencil. "Earth Angel", 8 1/2 x 11. Original and prints for sale. Picture 14.

More Old Art

This is a picture I think would look great on a tshirt. It was done back in 1993 and was used on the back of my first black and white book "Manmagic" (now out of print). "Breakthrough", marker on Bristol, 8 1/2 x 11. Prints available.

More Revamped Old Art

Taking my friend Pyracantha's leed, I found an old picture and scanned it and tried to clean it up and make it presentable. I have no idea where the original for this went, I hope it sold and is not just lost. I like this and just did a colored version that "fixed" some of the issues this old scan of a prints has. I do remember this was inspired by a bird preening. "Dragon Portrait", I am sure not the original title...I think the original was 8 1/2 x 11 (may have been half that), marker on art paper. Done in the 80's (I think). Also here is the colored version, printed on Canson paper and hand colored with Acrylic, Prisma Colors and jell pen. "Dragon Portrait Red", 8 1/2 x 11. Original  and prints for sale.

Captive Returns

Here is the color version of "Captive of the Turks" (the picture before this posted as a black and white). This is printed on Canson paper and then colored with Acrylic, 5 1/2 x 11. Original and prints for sale. Picture 12.

Here We Go Again

I started this in maybe 2001 and we moved and I put it away for the move and forgot t. Then in 2005 I rediscovered it and decided I wanted to finish it. I love the pose and his face and what I did background wise, though that is very minimal. I had plans for more but forgot what they were in the years it took to finish this. I now have done a color version which I will post next. "Captive of the Turks" was done in Micron marker on Bristol, I think the original is 5 x 10 or so. Prints for sale.

Old Restored Sorta

Taking my friend Pyracantha's leed, I found an old picture and scanned it and tried to clean it up and make it presentable. I have no idea where the original for this went, I hope it sold and is not just lost. I like this and hope maybe I can do a colored version that will "fix" some of the issues this old scan of a prints has. I do remember this was inspired by a bird preening. "Dragon Portrait", I am sure not the original title...I think the original was 8 1/2 x 11 (may have been half that), marker on art paper. Done in the 80's (I think).

New But Old

I finally decided to hand color a black and white of mine that I have wanted to color for a long time. Thanks to my great Art printer, I was able to print my black and white picture on to Canson paper! So here is "Lucifer's Lament" in color, Acrylic and Prisma Color. Original and prints for sale. Picture 11.

Repeat I Am Sure

OK, my search function on here is wrong I am sure since I can NOT believe I did not post this already...I may have spelled the title wrong (I am a terrible speller). This was done in black and white originally and I just had to do a hand colored version."Serengetti Conversation" originally done in marker on Bristol for my now out of print black and white book "Savage Grace". Did you know Zebras have black skin? Anyway, this version is a hand colored print, colored in (say it with me) Acrylics and watercolor colored pencil. It is 8 1/2 x 11. Prints available.Done in 1994.

Another Missed Pic?

OK, again this somehow is not found when I do a search, so I hope I have not posted it already. This was done back in the 80's when I was designing black and white art for cards. This was printed on Goldenrod cardstock and  used as a Valentine's day card. I am happiest with the wings and the background on this. "Pledge of Love", 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 (I think, could be 8 1/2 x 11) marker on Bristol. Prints available.

Fishy Stuff

OK, I could have sworn I posted this before, but it does not show up in a search, so...Another picture done for the Merman book that I never finished. This is 8 1/2 x 11, Micron marker on Bristol. I love strong contrast and was pretty happy with how this came out. Someday I will do a color version of this. Original and prints available. Done in 2003

MIssed Valantene

I could have sworn I posted this but it does not show on my searches. SO, here is one of my early and best pictures of my Vamyre boy, Valantene. Done as a black and white and then printed and colored. The idea here is if a Vampyre drinks the blood of a drunken person, they will become drunk themselves. I love all the details in this and the tipsy pose. "Valantene 1537; The Drink is Drunk", 8 1/2 x 11 original done in marker and then printed and colored in Acrylic and watercolor colored pencil. Prints available.

Old But Good

This is a old picture, done in 1993. It was done in black and white and I had to color it, especially with no real background in the original drawing. Painting it with the "photo blurr" background and the nice strong contrast made this very striking! I still really love it. "Sun Summons" 8 1/2 x 11, originally marker on Bristol, then printed on goldenrod cardstock and painted with Acrylics. Prints available.

Old Love

I am amazed I had not posed this before, but it does not show up in a search so I guess I have not. I did this back in the 80's and it was traded for art I still have not received. I love stippling and at the time I did this doing colored printed cards was not affordable, so I was designing black and white art that I could print on colored card stock as cards. I love the pose. This is "Flame of Love", 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 marker on paper. Prints available.

Bad Week

Well I am so far behind on my art because I have been very sick all week. The bad allergies have combined with a cold I think and I have been coughing, having a sore throat, no energy, lots of pain and feeling very bad for the past several days. I have coughed so much that my stomach muscles hurt now, especially when I cough again! I think I am getting better (I HOPE I will be better soon!)
Art will be done as soon as I am well enough to work again.
