and I will say it again, I HATE gold leafing!! I love how it looks but doing it is a HUGE pain! If I did not feel bad and guilty because I have owed this person their scroll for over a year, I would NOT be doing all this gold!! Anyway, here is a WIP of an AoA scroll commission for someone in the SCA (look it up if you don;t know what that is). This is 8 1/2 x 11 Micron pen and Gold leaf on velum (the skin not the paper). More gold is still needed and then color and calligraphy!
Well, I guess I can not do "social media", I have left Facebook and it seems people who know me in person can't seem to understand me when I write! So Social media is not for me. I am sorry I will not have any access to those friends who I had no other contact with and that I will most likely never see another picture of my grandson! If you are one of the few who were on Facebook and also follow my Weble, I hope I will hear from you occasionally here!

Once again I was inspired by Japanese art and by the Siren picture I did earlier this year. I had this idea before Pennsic but had to much to do and could not do it until I had the book cover done. Here is "Lotus Woman", 10 x 21 1/2, Acrylic, ProWhite and Micron marker on Canson board. Original for sale, prints available. Picture 25.

OK, I have permission from Sally Fink, the author of "Gods of Changeling Love" her third book in the series, to post the finished version of the cover. I am pretty pleased with it in the end, but it was a challenge! This is "Gods of Changeling Love", 13 x 20 1/2 Acrylic, Pro White and Micron marker on Canson board. Prints available. The book should be available early in September! Picture 24.

I have to wait on the client/author to give the OK before I post the finish cover art, but it is finally finished. It was a hard one since the background concept was not my strong suit...but I like how it all come together. Now on to other commissions before the next cover for her!

This is the pic I took of the cover with the background starting to take shape. The client likes it so far. Hope to have this done this week. The colors are a bit off as is the quality of the pic, but all I was trying to do was show off what I had done of the background to get the clients OK on it!

So it seems the two BJDs I want are sold out and have been since before I even heard of them. One is a boy centaur that is cute and while not the best I have seen, is in a good price range (well was when it was available). The second is more expensive but I love the look of this one and want him very badly! But again, it is long sold out :( Here is the URL for the one I would love to have and can't find anyplace!! The darker skinned one with the full satyr look would be what I want!! http://dollsoom.com/eng/shop/item.php?it_id=1276075438 So if by some miracle, someone who reads this can find me one to buy I would be VERY grateful!

I was told these were an addiction, I did not believe it...well I now have 3 and want more. The smallest one is Coryna, he is the tiny Anthro Unicorn in front, he is on the lap of Trevi who is on the lap of Ian (now with red hair and freckles). I guess once you get one you can't let them be lonely so you have to get another...and another...and another! :)

I finally found a store that carries BJD stuff (it is only about an hour from home). They didn't have a ton of boy stuff but I was able to buy one outfit for Trevi, including shoes! He has a hoody also but it is not in the picture. I decided to do an artsy photo of him coming through an amazing Gothic style frame I bought at Pennsic.

Well, Pennsic was not right this year. Wrong time, wrong people, wrong on many levels. But I did it (mostly alone) but Thanks to Anna Kuberth I had someone else in the shop and I really appreciate all she did this year! Her son Mike and his friend Scott were a great help as well! I may post more later, but for now I just wanted to say I am back and here is a picture of my BJDs in the "Hot Air Balloon" I made them and hung in the shop!
