Help With New Picture

OK, I will be posting this on FurAffinity and Facebook too. I want to get feedback to help me finish this picture. I can't decided what to do for the background on this. I still have allot of work to do on the figure and flowers but I would love to know what I am doing with the background before I get the figure to much further along. This is the Egyptian God, Nefertem and the flowers will be much more blue (they are blue lotus). Any and all ideas are welcome.

Try This

http://churchofforgivness.blogspot.com/  OK, I had hoped to make this an anonymous weble/blog but can't figure out how to do it. So it may not work as I had hoped. But you might look at it and see if it would be of any value to you. You can post anonymously (I think) and that would be just fine!

Close But No Cigar

I think this is a cute picture but I feel like I missed the likeness I was trying to get. This is my friend Russell's second daughter Adilyn. I have not met this baby yet, but have seen several pictures and I think she is adorable (looks allot like her daddy to me). Anyway, my latest picture, a miniature sorta, only 3 1/2 x 5. "Adi, Baby Beads", Acrylic and watercolor colored pencil on Canson board. Picture 31.

Here Kitty Kitty

I have a page on FurAffinity http://www.furaffinity.net/user/tristanalexander/ and there are many many amazing artists on that site. This character "Atari" belongs to
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/luckypan/ and I was given permission to do my version of him. He is an anthro Seal Point Siamese cat. It's a simple picture but I really think he is a cutie! If the creator of the character does not want to buy the original, it will be for sale, otherwise I will be selling prints. "Atari on a Red Pillow", 8 1/2 x 11, Acrylic and watercolor colored pencil on Canson board. Picture 30.

Walk in the Parkes

The artists Michael Parkes does amazing surrealistic works that have inspired me for years. I have done a couple pictures that were heavily influenced by his work. "Baron's Folly" was one of my first and can be found elsewhere on this weble (I think). This new picture is the latest attempt by me to do something similar to his work. Also, it screams for a story...anyone want to write it? "When the Rose Bleeds", 10 x 12, Acrylic and watercolor colored pencil on Canson board. Original and prints for sale. Picture 29.

Star Wars Angel

When I did this for my now out of print book "Darkness & Light", I didn't see the similarity until it was printed. This angel reminds me allot of Luke Skywalker (in an angel form). "Archangel", 8 1/2 x 11 marker on Bristol.

No Day But Today

RENT (Finale B) by Jonathan Larson (edited)

There Is No Future – There Is No Past - Thank God This Moments Not The Last - & There's Only Us -There's Only This - Forget Regret - Or Life Is Yours To Miss - No Other Road - No Other Way - No Day But Today - There's Only Now - There's Only Here -Give In To Love - Or Live In Fear - No Other Path - No Other Way - No Day But Today -No Day But Today - No Day But Today - No Day But Today

I think this is a great philosophy, very Buddhist really. A great song if you haven't heard it or seen Rent, you should!

Chained

Keeping with the angel theme, here is another picture done for my out of print book, "Darkness & Light". This one is a bound angel, not sure if that means he is bad or good or what exactly. "Captive Angel", 8 1/2 x 11, marker on Bristol paper.

Ornamental Boy

I hope this hasn't been posted before. I did this for my "Darkness & Light" book (now out of print). While he kind of reminds me of a hood ornament, I really like this one. The pose, details and background all came out very well for me. I will have to do a color version of this soon. "Earth Angel", 8 1/2 x 11 marker on Bristol paper.

Angry Art

I have several things making me rather angry at the moment and this picture developed while I was angry. So I am calling it "Anger". It is 10 1/2 x 12 Acrylic, watercolor colored pencil and Pro White on colored paper. The lines around the frame/window were done with Micron marker. Picture 28.

Bad Raphael

I have done 8 different badges for the SCA's largest event, Pennsic. This was the one used for Pennsic XXXIII. The theme for that year was "the ladies that inspire us". This was based on a drawing by Raphael from the 1500's. My version is very bad in comparison to the original, but since what I did had to be able to be clear when stamped into metal, it came out pretty good. This is actually more fine than the version used, I had to make the lines all thicker and more even but I wanted to show the better sketch here. About 3 inches tall, Micron marker on paper.

Spring Fling

Stupid title but I couldn't think of anything. I just finished a picture based somewhat on a Clouded Leopard (not a true leopard but that is what it is called and it's markings are lovely). A somewhat simple, artistic pose just cause I liked it. "Clouded Cutie", 8 x 10, Acrylic and watercolor colored pencil on Canson board. Picture 27.

Rising

I hope I didn't post this already. I try hard to not repeat myself on here. This is one of my earliest and favorite pictures of my Vampyre, Valantene. I was very happy with the way the shading and details came out. "Valantene Rising", 8 1/2 x 11 marker on Bristol paper. Prints available.

Late For Easter

I had hoped to have an anthro rabbit picture done or at least started for Easter, but it didn't happen. Now I have a finished bunny of sorts. The movie "Harvey" is a favorite of mine and is the first time I ever heard of a phooka (pronounced pu-ka). These mischievous Celtic spirits appear in the form of various animals. Normally they are black, but in "Harvey" we are told he is white. I decided to add spiral mystical symbols and keep the background simple but to imply a connection to the movie by putting in the street lamp. "Mr. Dowde's Phooka Pal", about 7 x 15, Acrylic, watercolor colored pencil and Pro White on Canson board. Original and prints for sale. picture 26

No Posts

Well, I have been sick and have not done alot of work this week. But I have two pictures in the works so will post again soon.

Badge for a Friend

Kyr is a friend who loves deer. He has an anthro version of himself that is a white stag and I wanted to do something for him so I did this little con badge of his animal self. "Kyr badge", 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 Acrylic, Micron marker and watercolor colored pencil on Canson board. Picture 25.

Birthing Elephants

OK, not exactly but oddly enough due to being sick, it seemed like a major chore to get this picture done. I have always liked the Hindu God Ganesha. The fact that he is sometimes portrayed as a baby is also appealing to me. So here is my first Ganesha picture ever, inspired by Hindu art and by the book "Goddesses of the Celestial Gallery" by Romio Shrestha. The art is amazing and his work has 1000 times more detail than my poor attempt. But the style is still what inspired this. "Baby Ganesha", 11 x 11 Acrylic on Canson board. Picture 24.

Sick of being Sick

Day 3 of sinus/cold/allergy problem. sore throat with runny nose and headache, followed by horrible coughing. Not much sleep and no way to get any art done. Hope I am better soon...
