More Art This Year Than Last

I number my art so I know how many pictures I did that year. I had been going down hill doing only 48 last year but I have done 79 this year so I am pleased. The fact I did all of Inktober helped a lot!

Summoning

Life and Death

Another in my random works. The title just seemed right as soon as it was done. The skeleton obviously represents death and so does space, and the flowers and sun represent life. Picture Before Christmas

More Than Planned

I had planed for this picture to be mostly monotoned and not have a lot of color, but as it progressed I found I wanted to put more and more color in it. So now I think it is finished; "Silver Prince", 9 x 12, Micron pen, White gel pen and Acrylic on grey toned paper. Original and prints available.

Black Scroll

I was commissioned to do this backlog (given years ago but never done as a scroll). I love doing Black Hours style but this is my very first on actual black dyed parchment instead of paper. "Gwenllian Golden Dolphin", 8 1/2 x 11, Egg tempera, Acrylic and metallics on parchment. Based on the Hours of Galeazzo Maria Sforza, 1400's Milan. Picture 73.

Eliphidon't

Fire Fun

New Art

Just For Fun

I did this just because I wanted to do something with no reason and for fun. Partly inspired by a Anime character. "Death Head Demon", 9 x 12, Micron pens and White gel pen on tan paper. Original and prints available. Picture 68.

New Small Picture

Inspired by the work of another artist and haveinga cool little frame this will look great in, I did this little Faerie. "Leaf Hopper", 7 x almost 5 oval, Acrylic, watercolor colored pencil and Micron pen on Canson board. Original and prints available. Picture 67.

Morpheus in Color

Finally finished coloring this. I still need a level picture (the sides are even not warped) but the board has a slight warp and so my photos look distorted. Inktober 31

For the first time in several years I actually finished Inktober. "Morpeus", 12 x 18, Micron pen on Canson board. This will be painted but I wanted to post the ink only version for Intober. .

Inktober 29

This was supposed to be done a long time ago as gift to a former apprentice as a Laureling gift (SCA high award), So I used Inktober as a reason to finally get it done. Based on/inspired by the Sherborne Missal, 15th century English manuscript. "Mistress Sparrow", 5 x 7, Micron pen, Acrylic, Prowhite and metallic gold paint on velum. Picture 64.

Bad Bad Year

Well, after returning from a Pennsic where I made little money, we had to have one cat put to sleep on the first Tuesday back and another the next Monday. The cops are still trying to put my dying  son in prison for the rest of his short life and I am not feeling very well...And Trump is still trying to destroy the country! Wonderful!

Back From War

Well, sales were down and it seemed a low attended war. Saw and talked with lots of great people and solidified some friendships. Hope to have more artists in my shop next year. Was glad it was over and sad to come home.

One More to Go

I have one more picture I have to do before next weekend. This is "Anpu hedj", 8 1/2 x 18, Acrylic, Prowhite, Micron pen, and watercolor colored pencil on Canson board. Anpu is the Egyptian name for the god we call Anubis (which is his Greek name), hadj is white in ancient Egyptian. Original and prints available. Picture 23.

Nearly the Last

This is maybe the next to last picture I get done before Pennsic. Years ago I did a couple picture sin what I call my Children's book illustration style, this is another in that set.
