Musical Inspiration

Back in the late 80's (I think), I did this picture based on a blind musician. The title and concept was inspired by the Moody Blues song "Veteran Cosmic Rocker". Music often inspires my work and I am almost always listening to music while working.

I think my favorite part of this picture is the Celtic guitar. I would love to see a real one like that. Doing the knotwork design on it and the strap drove me nuts but in the end I was very pleased with how it came out. "Cosmic Rocker", about 8 x 20 or so, Acrylic on board.

  2. Wow, those Celtic designs are indeed impressive! I tend to lose patience with Celtic knotwork the smaller it gets.

I listen to music while working on illumination too; always The Sixteen. I don't tend to listen to music while writing; I can't write to lyrics because it interferes with the words in my head ... maybe voices in my head would be better? :)
