Christmas Card Maybe

I have several things I should be working on so of course my brat of a Muse decided he had to inspire something else. I got two great books for my Birthday, one is "The Art of Michael Parkes II" and the other is "J.C. Leyendecker", both amazing artists who's work has and is influencing mine. Anyway, I did this (not to the right proportions of course) with the idea of using it as one of my Christmas Card designs for this year. It is inspired by Mr. Parkes later works and I really like it and plan to do more with this style. In case it doesn't become a card, here is "Angel with Red Star", 8 1/2 x 11 Acrylic, watercolor colored pencil, marker and Pro White on Canson board. 45

  1. Whether it becomes a Christmas card or not, it is beautiful! I love the tiny gold holly leaves that look like they're catching the light.

  2. i feel like i have seen this somewhere before but in different colours. but also not this. it is weird. in my head the paper is parchment and it is kinda an illumination yet not cause it is new though the star is blue and seems made of cut gems. i think i dreamed it.

this is really nice. also i like to total profile of the figure. not something you do much of
