Well, I didn't post anything yesterday so I will post 2 things today. The first is "Hern in the River of Time" this is a large painting on canvas (30 x 40) and the photo is not the best. There is flash glare in the upper left corner as you look at the picture, but this is the best I have been able to get. I enjoyed doing the details in this one, like the foam in the water and the details on the rocks and the drips on his body. For some reason all my Herns have vines on them and until recently, every one has had the same antlers (a 10 point set my father got when he killed a deer with his bow).

Fantastic anatomy there, Tristan! There's a lot of power coiled in the figure (particularly in the hands and the tensed quadriceps) who (to me) evokes Cernunnos. The water's great -- has a lot of movement.
ReplyDeleteAntlers!
ReplyDeleteHe makes a good wild god, definitely someone you don't mess with. But at the same time, with him looking right at me, he seems to be calling to me....
ReplyDeleteThank you, anatomy is something I strive to do correctly. And as for him calling you, good, that means I got some power into the picture (the original has even more).
ReplyDeleteyup. just gotta love that Hearn!!!
ReplyDeleteI also just adore a trail of Ivy...
