This was my first attempt at doing a Japanese print style picture and it was a big hit! The original sold for a nice price and prints have also sold well. It is a Gryffon like the previous post and came out as well as I could have ever expected. Since the Japanese have no word for Gryffon, the kanji says "Lion/Eagle". It was done on illustration board in Acrylics and watercolor colored pencil. I think it was about 9 x 17.

Another Japanese Gryffon

Wow, I can understand why it was a hit! I think the whole thing works very well, but again, I am draw to the background and the tossing sea.
