I love the colors, lighting and overall effect of this picture. It is called "The Prince" as in Prince of Darkness. I did a companion piece called "The Messenger" (an angel) but while it came out well it does not have the power this one has. Done on 11 x 14 Bristol paper in Acrylic and watercolor colored pencil.

ReplyDeleteARRGGGHHH! And for this I post art??
ReplyDeleteI adore "flame"-colored gradients. When I used to paint gaming miniatures, I would have to forbid myself to use them. So, of course, this drew me right away. Actually, my mouth hung open for a moment, if you must know. ;) While the flames initially caught my attention, it is the play of light on his bluish skin that impresses me the most. In all, the colors on this are lovely. I keep scrolling back to look at it! :)
ReplyDeleteExcellent! I'm a diehard fan of John Milton's Paradise Lost and that fine fellow could easily be one of Lucifer's minions in the Halls of Pandaemonium. I'm really taken with this demon.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Dawn on the combination of flame and the blue skin tone. A very pleasing contrast.
Your mad skilz with figure drawing never fail to amaze me.
Wow. Temptation incarnate....
