This will be the last feather I suspect for a while, have to find more to work on and get my glue to work better. You can't see it in the scan but there is a silver line from the Fairies hands to the bee. I like the pose a lot and doing the face so tiny was hard. The feather is about 2 x 7 inches. Picture 24.

Beautiful work on the feathers. I've never seen anyone using feathers as a medium before. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThank You Paton (whoever you are) I can't claim any originality other than what I put on them to painting on feathers. Native Americans have been doing it for hundreds of years and I know a few other artists who paint on them alot and much better than I do.
ReplyDeleteLove the feather art. What kind of bird has these feathers and where do you get them? I didn't know that Native Americans painted on feathers. Also I like the little guys that you added to your "Weble" header art. They look sorta Mayan.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful beautiful beautiful!
ReplyDeletePyracantha, the feathers are usualy domestic Goose or Turkey, sometimes chicken. A couple are comon Crow found in the yard. I have some (someplace) that are parrot given to me by a parrot owner. It seems they shed alot of them.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is a fascinating idea! I see what all I've missed over the last month. :) I love tiny art, and the subject really works well on a feather. Is the texture difficult to work with?
